October 18, 2011

Olney, IL.…State Representative David Reis (R-Ste. Marie) achieved a perfect voting record by supporting legislation to create jobs and to promote the principles of prosperity, according to the 2011 Legislative Vote Card by the Illinois Policy Institute.

“Serving as State Representative, I am committed to voting in favor of legislation that holds the line on tax hikes, increases transparency in state spending and demands greater responsibility and honesty in state government operations,” Rep. Reis stated.

Rep. Reis’ one-hundred percent voting record was configured from votes cast in the 96th General Assembly lame duck session and the current 97th General Assembly.

The Legislative Vote Card is the Illinois Policy Institute’s attempt to shine a light on the votes in Springfield that matter most. The Vote Card assesses roll call votes on key bills that have an identifiable impact on job creation and liberty in one of the following areas: budget and taxes, government regulation, transparency and accountability, and education. Nine votes of interest were identified in the Illinois House.

Rep. Reis continued, “The voting record published by the Illinois Policy Institute is an excellent resource to hold lawmakers accountable and inform constituents on key policies that will make a difference in their lives and that of the state of Illinois.”

“In 2011, several pieces of crucial legislation have been voted on in the Illinois House. Rep. David Reis has voted the right way every time. The Vote Card showcases his continued support on the House floor to make Illinois a national leader in the vital areas of education reform, open government and job creation,” stated Collin Hitt, Senior Director of Government Affairs at the Illinois Policy Institute.
