Reis Ranking Member of Public Safety Appropriations Committee

Olney, IL.…As the 97th General Assembly begins its spring session in Springfield, Representative David Reis (R- Ste. Marie) wishes to has announce his committee assignments for the two-year legislative cycle.

Representative Reis will once again serve as the Republican Spokesman for the House Public Safety Appropriations Committee.

The committee considers budgetary requests that impacts many departments throughout state government including Department of Transportation, Capitol Development Board, Dept. of Corrections, State Police, Illinois Finance Authority, Illinois Emergency Management Board, and Dept of Military Affairs.

"It is a real honor to be asked by our leadership team to be the spokesperson for this committee," stated Reis. "The state faces great budgetary challenges and many tough decisions will need to be made to keep our state solvent. Many important departments that affect the citizens of the 108th District are funded through this committee and I look forward to serving and representing the needs of not only our region but all of rural Illinois."

Reis will also serve on the House Elementary and Secondary Education, Judiciary II (criminal law) , Elections & Campaign Reform, and Insurance committees.
