Reis Reminds Sportsmen Licenses Available On-Line
August 14, 2006
Olney - State Representative David Reis (R-Ste. Marie) wants local sportsmen to know they have the ability to purchase their Illinois fishing and hunting licenses and FOID card renewals over the internet.
"By simply clicking on to the Department of Natural Resources icon at www.davidreis.org you are able to quickly and efficiently complete your transactions saving you time and effort" said Representative Reis.
The 108th District Representative said the process is easy and more importantly, for those worried about identity theft, it is safe. "The transaction is encrypted for security purposes" said Reis. "You merely complete the application and send it over the internet.
After successfully completing the registration, you'll receive a valid permit number to print out. The system will process your payment and send back to your screen a web page containing an electronic license. "You just print the license and put it in your wallet" Reis said. "The site was designed with the highest quality standard and that minimizes potential transaction errors." Should a customer incur a duplicate charge, the transaction will be fully refunded, including the transaction fee.
You can also download an application for obtaining a FOID card. Whether it's a new issue, renewal, expired card, lost or stolen card, or name and address change the proper application can be obtained. "Sportsmen should remember," added Reis "if you lose your card or have it stolen you should report it immediately to the Department of Natural Resources at 217-782-7980."
