Identity Theft Seminars Coming up in February
This week I announced that my office will host identity theft seminars in 2 communities on February 21, 2018. The seminars are offered in conjunction with the Illinois Attorney General's office.

Identity theft is a growing issue in our country, especially for senior citizens. With the recently announced attack on the credit reporting agency Equifax, tens of millions of Americans are now at risk for identity theft. ID theft can result in the loss of money, time, and overall personal security. Consumers need to be protected.

The seminars are offered free of charge to residents in and around Newton and Flora on February 21, 2018. I hope the public will take advantage of the opportunity to learn about the very real risks posed by identity thieves. I want seniors and others to have the tools and information they need to protect their identity and to stop identity crimes being perpetrated against them. So, we will meet with folks in their communities to help make this information as accessible as possible.

Details on the upcoming identity theft seminars are below.
